TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is intended for family physicians, internists, gynecologists, geriatricians, endocrinologists, and cardiologists who are engaged in the care of patients with type 2 diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol in primary care settings.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Identify content strategies to encourage a patient's protective behaviors
- Identify content strategies to deal with patients' diverse health beliefs and/or opposing views
What you'll get
When you persuade a patient to adopt protective behaviors (e.g. hand-washing, condom use, etc.), you need to connect with patients and address possibly diverse health beliefs.
In this course, you'll learn persuasion content factors that have extensive empirical evidence. You'll be methodical in responding to how a patient evaluates their health threats and how they view your recommended solutions.
